The online application is for ALL positions including the kitchen staff positions.

Application Instructions and Checklist

Please make sure you fill out the online application completely and accurately by the deadlines listed at the bottom of this page.  Failure to follow the instructions listed on the application may cause you to lose all of your information.  We recommend that you save your essay in a Word document in the event that the application fails to submit properly. 

To apply for employment positions at Oakcrest Girls Camp, please follow the instructions below.   A complete application has three parts:

  • Online Application (including essay)
  • Bishop’s Reference
  • Personal Reference

Application (You may apply for more than one position on the same application.)

  • Check all positions you are interested in applying for.
  • Answer all questions and provide all requested information.
  • Complete the essay.
  • Check the boxes indicating you will be able to attend all staff trainings (March 25, April 29, May 13), pre-camp week (May 29-June 2), and the entire 9 weeks of camp (June 5-August 12). Oakcrest is closed the week of July 2 – July 8.
  • Submit

Essay (One essay is adequate when applying for multiple positions.)

Directorship Essay(those applying for Director, Assistant Director, or Head Cook)

Include the following:

  1.  What impact do you think Oakcrest Girls Camp can and should have on its campers?
  2.  What is your motivation in applying for the Directorship?
  3.  How would you help motivate the staff and build unity.
  4.  A brief testimony.

Staff Application Essay (those applying for Counselor, or Specialist/Counselor, or Range Master)

Include the following:

  1.  What impact do you think Oakcrest Girls Camp can and should have on its campers?
  2.  What is your motivation for applying to be a Counselor/Specialist?
  3.  How would you help build unity among your campers?
  4.  Share how you would be an asset in keeping a positive attitude, helping those around you, and working as a good team member.
  5.  A brief testimony.

Kitchen Application Essay (those applying for Assistant Cook or Kitchen Duty Specialist)

Include the following:

  1.  Share how you would be an asset in keeping a positive attitude, helping those around you, and working as a good team member.
  2.  Describe a time when you feel you had to work hard to accomplish a difficult task or goal.
  3.  Give an example of when you had a difference of opinion with someone and how you handled it.
  4.  A brief testimony.

References

The Bishop’s Reference form:To be filled out by your college bishop (if currently in college), your Mission President (if currently serving a mission), or your home bishop if living at home.

The Personal Reference form:To be filled out by someone who has supervised you in school, church, work, or knows your qualifications. This reference letter cannot be filled out by boyfriends, relatives, or roommates.

A link to our online reference forms with instructions will be sent to your references after you submit your application.  Reference forms are the property of Oakcrest and should not be shared with the applicant.


Upon receiving your application, essay, and two references, your application will be reviewed and you may be contacted for an interview.  We do not interview all applicants.
