Our counselors quickly develop strong bonds with campers. However, when their camp week ends, it is important for campers to return to their support systems at home, such as parents, family, friends, and church leaders. Our counselors are simply unable to keep up with the 100+ campers they get to know over 10 weeks; they also need to return to their personal lives. Because of this, as well as legal reasons, counselors are not permitted to have contact with campers after they leave Oakcrest. Campers are welcome to send letters to camp until the end of the summer, or they can connect with their counselors on social media once they turn 18. This policy is explained to campers on the last day of their camp week and we ask that parents and guardians adhere to this request as well.
