Oakcrest leadership positions require a huge time commitment including, 1) From December – April, meeting twice a month with the Administrator; 2) Being involved with the interview process three weekends in February; 3) Meeting weekly with the Administrator during the month of May; 4) Being available on weekends for phone calls during camp season. Working in the Oakcrest kitchen requires that you are able to work long hours on your feet, preparing three meals a day, for up to 400 people each week. Are you able to perform these duties in a mountain setting?*

We ask that you check your summer calendar carefully and fully commit to attending all training meetings as well as daily attendance at camp for all 11 weeks. If you have a conflicting week, you may request to schedule an unpaid week off at or before interview time. If you are unable to wholly commit to the time required, we may not be able to consider your application. KD’s whose last week of school conflicts with pre-camp week (June 1 -June 5) should still apply.*

I understand that camp runs Monday through Friday, for eleven weeks of the summer.

I understand that I must live worthy to hold a temple recommend now and throughout the entire summer. If I fail to live worthy of a temple recommend, my employment can be suspended or terminated.

I understand that there will be training meetings on May 1, May 2, and May 15, 2026. I understand that I am expected to fully commit to attending these meetings.

I understand that I am expected to fully commit to attend pre-camp week held June 1 – 5, 2026. (KD’s whose last week of school conflicts with these dates should still apply.)

I understand that camp begins on June 8 and runs through August 14, 2026. I commit to being there for the entirety of these camp dates unless ill. I understand that my pay will be docked for days missed and I must notify the Director and the Administrator. If you have a conflicting week, you may request to schedule an unpaid week off at or before interview time.

I understand that I am required to work and live at camp Monday morning through Friday afternoon. I will need to find a place to stay on the weekends within a reasonable travel distance from the Salt Lake Valley. I will need transportation to and from camp (near Kamas, Utah) or to various car pool sites in the Salt Lake Valley.

I understand employment is conditional on passing a background check.

Kitchen Agreement*

I understand that pre-camp week often coincides with the last week of school, requiring students to make arrangements to miss all but essential classes and graduation activities. I understand that the head cook may excuse me for 2 1/2 days, without pay, to attend a ward or stake camp, or youth conference, after she takes in consideration the schedules of all kitchen staff members to assure that the remaining kitchen staff can handle all meals in my absence.
